Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (Start German 1) Exam Schedule
The official list below only shows reserved time periods and not confirmed exams. Please confirm with your instructor whether or not your course will be taking its final exam during this period.

Locations
The Exam Schedule lists locations where DEP conducts operator certification exams. Please refer to the individual exam pages for more information about exam content, exam rules and conditions, and additional guidelines. If wymagane badania a1 require special accommodations due to a chronic illness, visual or hearing impairment, you should contact the exam provider directly and be sure to submit a thorough documentation when you register.

The Faculty Dashboard in Workday has a "View My Teaching Schedule" that allows faculty to find their exam schedules. The Registrar's Office also has a schedule of exam times for those classes that must be tested under NYSED regulations. Final exams for classes in the evening are scheduled during the regular class meeting times of the final exam weeks.

Registration
The exam schedule is available online and students are advised to review it. However it is crucial to keep in mind that the final exam schedule can change at any time. Therefore, students should consult with their instructors to confirm that they have the correct date and time for their exam. Students should also print the official list of questions to bring to their exam.
In addition to the exam schedule, students should also familiarize themselves with the exam guidelines and conditions and terms. They are available on the individual exam pages. Students acknowledge that they have read and agree to the conditions and terms of registration.
Exam locations will do their best to accommodate those with special needs. The nature and extent of these needs should be noted on the registration and verified by a doctor's attestation. In addition the locations for the exam must respect and maintain confidentiality.
If a student is scheduled to take three examinations scheduled for the same day it is suggested that they contact their instructor or department to arrange an alternate exam. Although it is possible to take three exams in one day, it can result in an increase in stress levels and can affect the quality of the test. Additionally, the instructor may not be able to give a makeup exam on another day.
Students should review the course material prior to taking the test and work on their German skills. The exam is a paper test that tests your ability to read and write German. The exam results are presented on a scale from A1 to C2. Students who succeed in passing the test are awarded an Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate documents attainment of the language level A1. This level corresponds to the initial stage of the six-level scale of competence laid down in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The examination is free of charge. Students must bring a valid government issued ID to the test. Students who do not have a valid picture identification will be disqualified.
Fees
You will have to pay an examination fee in order to obtain the Goethe-Zertifikat (start German 1) after you have completed your Elan Academy studies. This is in addition to the course fee.
Practice assessments provide you with an overview of the style, wording and difficulty of questions on the exam. They can help you evaluate your understanding, find areas of weakness and increase your chances of passing the exam.
